Has anybody tried any Wireless CarPlay adapters in their 2019/2020 Blazers? I just got the iPhone 12 Pro and decided that I am sick of havin to plug my phone into the car just to use CarPlay so I decided to take a chance on adapter. After reading some information and reviews I decided on purchasing the CPLAY2AIR device (CPLAY2air wireless adapter for factory CarPlay on CARPLAY2air.com).
When I got the device it did not connect or work out of the box and I was really PO'd about it. I figured it was firmware related but the instructions to get the firmware updated were not working. I spent a couple hours looking on the internet and finally found a solution to get the firmware updated. Apparently the device broadcasts it's own WiFi network so I plugged it into a USB Power Adapter (Not into the car or a computer) and saw a new WiFi network pop up in range. I connected to that SSID with the passcode of 12345678 which I found searching on the internet. Once connected to my phone I could go to the device's default IP of 192.168.50.2 and the firmware began to update. Thankfully the firmware appeared to be the solution as once I brought it back to my Blazer I was able to connect it to my CarPlay using the instructions on the box.
I have been using it for about 4 days and while there is a bit of a delay (about 15 seconds) to get connected to the CarPlay it sure beats having to plug into a cord. Now I can leave my phone in my pocket and take advantage of CarPlay and if I need to charge I can just set it on the wireless charging pad built into the Blazer.
