Some cheap 6x120 18x8 steel wheels

Then you should be able to just get some 225 width tires to fit those from Blizzak or other brand winter tire.

Those were the cheapest wheels I found in a quick search but sites like Tire Rack or Discount Tire can do things like a Winter wheel and tire package.

I am thinking about this myself to be honest. Mainly to save my wheels from the harsh road salt to be honest. I would hope the tires and AWD would be adequate for most winter travel but maybe not.
That's a really good deal, I might have to give that a look as well. It makes life easier when you have winter rims for your winter tires rather than switching tires every winter.

It saves you a lot of trouble too.

No need to constantly rebalance the wheels
No need to worry about the tire guy damaging your tire beads
the list goes on.

even the cost to remove/install them adds up over time
I've had separate winter and summer wheels for years and I haven't regretted it at all. you spend a couple of hours swapping them yourself and boom you're all set.
