USB Music storage and playing

Hi all,

Have a 2020 Blazer RS. At Christmas time we use a USB 64gb drive with about 4500 Christmas songs.

The issue is that the infotainment system seems to be only recognizing about a third of the catalog. It plays those songs fine. My 2016 Suburban (or previous generation GM vehicles) has no problem sorting out the 4500 songs.

Any suggestions? I am going to try a USB - C drive this weekend.

Do you know what format those problem audio files are?
Its very possible that some formats are compatible while others are not, and would be an easy first step in solving this issue.

P.S. it would be great if you can kick off a Christmas/Holiday music thread here!

Hi,

Thanks for responding. It was a format issue. Many of my files were WMA. I converted those to MP3.

I also had to format the USB 3.0 drive to NTSF from FAT32.

All good now. 4,600 Christmas songs from over 200 cd/albums.
