When it comes to a real model out there in the wild, this Traverse is as close as it gets. Just imagine it with a shorter wheelbase and odds are you have the Blazer, proportions should stay relatively the same. Just make sure to disregard some of the design as per usual.

Basically that's what it comes down to. But unlike 10+ years ago car makers are actually focused on making real design changes, no more subtle changes that are simple bolt-on's. So all we can take from this are proportions and the platform.

Well, that's easy to say but with the Blazer having some gap in production from the last one to this, and the Blazer having always been a unique product, we could see a Chevy SUV that takes on a different design route. Unless you see some valid reason why they would keep it similar to the Traverse.

Yup and it was a sporty and lighter SUV which they always needed and down the road kept evolving as the Suburban and Tahoe took over the big SUV purposes. That's why i'm still here although we haven't seen much, if the Blazer lives up to the original, its for me!

I'm not a fan of the current SUV and Crossover segment, they either go very large or very compact. The Chevy Blazer looks like it straddles the middle. Hopefully it'll be of similar size compare to its predecessor.

Would you ever consider getting a Tahoe if the Blazer doesn't live up to your expecatations? So far its just about the best smallest but true SUV you can get from GM. I know i would!

Perhaps, but I was hoping for a two door blazer like the older models.

Good luck with that because these days its much harder for any car maker to justify pulling that move unless its a product they have been selling consistently for years, like the Wrangler 2-door. So far Chevy hasn't proved its willing to do that so as it stands I expect this Blazer to be a 2 door.

Such a shame, but I do understand where they're coming from as four doors are easier to sell than two doors unless it's a coupe.

Coupe style 4 door SUV would solve that problem and help take Chevy into a new era of SUV. Just about nothing they have right now can be a coupe and considering what other car makers are doing, Chevy is falling behind, even Toyota already introduced coupe styling.
