squirrelly on icy roads?

2019 premier is hard to control on icy roads. Tried to turn off every control I could find and it didn't help. Has any one else had this problem?

Is your Blazer FWD or AWD? I've been mighty impressed with AWD mode. My Blazer handles snow and ice like a champ when it's in AWD.

If only FWD good luck it won't get better, if AWD turn on the AWD.
You might consider changing your tires in the winter to Bridgestone Blizzaks.
My wife complained about the handling on snowy roads and how she couldnt even keep up with normal traffic because it felt like it was going to spin out. I thought she was crazy so I took it out and drove it. I went thru every mode and was almost afraid to drive it.
I even notice in the summer if you hit a rough patch on the road or highway, it tries to skip sideways like hitting washboards on a gravel road.
Im glad its not just me having this issue but am curious why it does it. It is kinda dangerous.

My 2019 premier does great here in northern Michigan. But then again icy road can be difficult

I don't have any problems with my 2019 premier with all season 20 inch tires. I love it
Only had my RS for a few weeks. Haven't driven on any ice yet, but did get to travel on some snowy slippery roads a few times and it handled pretty well for me in AWD.

Sounds like a brake issue.

Same
My 21 RS has the same handling issue. I have the 265/45/R21 tire option. Took it to the dealer twice. Last visit cost me a wheel alignment and tire balance (both were mildly out of adjustment). They claim there is nothing wrong. It oversteers (torque steers) at half throttle while changing lanes and on ice it seams to wonder, even at 50km/hr.
Update on my experience. Vehicle was like this since new. I complained about it at 11,000 km this summer (no icy conditions) and they said the wheel alignment tester said it's in spec. I told the dealership last week (17,000 km) that it must be a wheel alignment issue. First they had to replace the rear driveshaft (main reason I took it in), they did a wheel balance and wheel alignment (charged me for that) and said both were out. The vehicle stability was still shit! I took it back yesterday and told them I think the wheel alignment is still out. Today they told me they had a junior tech do the alignment and the alignment was still out. WTF! They re-did the wheel alignment and now it handled properly. So, it was the wheel alignment all along. I also noticed torque steer with this vehicle but they can't fix that without a different axle design.

I’ve had my blazer RS 2022 since October and now I’m driving in icy roads in Utah. Every time there is slush or ice on the road it feels like it’s trying to self correct as if it’s trying to find the lines on the road. Similar to when you have the lane assist feature on. We’ve tried everything to figure out which button to turn off. But it feels as if the car is in the lane assist mode and it corrects your car- but just when there is ice or slush. It drives fantastic in the snow in 4WD, and I can switch between 2/4 wheel. Even in the summer if there is a bump; not any numb, but the kind that is more like a pot hole, where just one or two tired hits it, it will also do this self adjust thing. But it’s scary in the winter! I just sent my four teenage kids down the Mtn. in Park city in my car and I’m sitting here looking up what to do because I’m scared about it! Praying all goes ok. I was hoping to figure something out on this forum.

That sounds like my problem I had as posted above. When the wheel alignment was done properly, the vehicle drives like it should and I felt confident in the vehicle again. The wheel alignment issue will only show itself by the wear off the tires after 10,000 miles, icy patches or the pot hole scenario you explained. Make sure the dealership can do it properly and provide you with the before and after measurements.
We drove through north TX a few weeks ago in an awful ice storm. I'm from MN so use to ice/snow driving. My Blazer was acting very squirrely on the thick ice on certain parts of the highway during 6 hours of driving terror. I could feel it slipping and re-adjusting - just as you describe, very scary. I think I now know what the problem was. The tires were all down to 3/32 tread AND the alignment was off. I got new tires yesterday and an alignment, which from various google searches indicates problem should now be solved.
