Anyone else experience an issue that when you put your Blazer in Park you get the warning chime to shift it into park. So far it has happened to me 3 or 4 times in the past couple days. I can jiggle the shifter handle to get the chime to stop but it has me concerned.

Interesting, that was big problem with the new generation Malibu’s but it’s the first I’ve personally heard about with the Blazer.

It’s usually an adjustment or replacement of the shifter module on those vehicles, which if you didn’t already know is not a mechanical device any longer but an electronic one, because the Park pin switch is not functioning. I’d suggest visiting your dealer.

Thank you. I was going to do that anyway. I was just curious if this was an issue others experienced. I recorded a video of the issue to because I always seem to get the "We were unable to recreate the issue" from Chevy service. I am still fighting to get the rattling and cabin noise issues resolved.

I believe there was actually a service bulletin for that very issue! My 2019 RS was actually jamming itself into the parking brake mode while I was driving! I would then get the shift to park notice on my screen. It was in the dealer for a few days and they said there was a service bulletin for the issue.

Thank you. This is most helpful. I will have this handy when I bring my Blazer in too. I have had dealers say they have no info of any issues before and having the service bulletin sometimes helps.

Had the same issue. I went to the dealership and they replace some type of harness attached to the gear shifter. It was under warranty, no charge. Works perfectly now.

Thank you for the TSB information Christen.

This started happening to me last week. It went away for a few days but popped up again last night. Of course my B2B warranty expired 3 weeks ago so I'm sure I'm going to have to pay for this. Hoping my dealer is reasonable since I've read prices from the $335 janny13 mentioned to over $500 on various other message boards. Kind of a lot for an $8 part and less than an hour of work.

I saw in a YouTube video that GM says it should take about 20 minutes to do. Here is the video I found that goes through the fix if anyone is interested in seeing what's involved:

FYI - I also read that there are a few class action law suits for this issue that includes the vehicles listed on the TSB. I guess we'll have to wait and see how they go.

I’m at the dealership now getting this issue corrected. $320 and about 2 hours. He said they need to replace a switch and add the harness mentioned in the TSB. Still waiting for them to finish up. Hopefully this fixes it for good.

So I had to go in again two months ago when I started receiving the shift to park issue on my dash again. Several times I almost couldn't get the car to shut off so It was definitely getting worse. Turns out the first shift to park issue they fixed was something different, but where there was a service bulletin for this specific issue, I assumed it was covered. When I called to make the appointment they said, "oh yes this is common, we can fix it with your oil change appointment" which I scheduled for the same day. Turns out, it's NOT covered under warranty! I said, "but there's a service bulletin!" To which they said it's been revised to only CERTAIN manufacture dates of the 2019 Blazer and no longer covers all 2019 Blazers.(which is total BS because they are all affected). I DID have the extended warranty thankfully so I had to pay a $100 deductible, but they would have charged over$400!

I’m sorry to hear to are still having issues with this. My dealer replaced 1 part and added the harness to fix my issue. I wonder if they only added the harness for your initial repair. Anyway, I’m glad you got some use out of the extended warranty. Hopefully your Blazer is fixed for good.
