Rattling sound

Hey all. New here.

Just got my new Blazer RS 2 days ago and there has been a rattling sound or something similar since I drove it off the lot. I had not installed anything at that point. Tried removing the rear cargo bar...it’s not that.

Sounds to me like it’s coming from inside the cabin. But can’t figure out what could be rubbing together or banging that would cause this. It’s fairly noticeable any time you drive over a few miles per hour. Can’t tell if the sound is more plastic or metal.

I am going to take it back. Basically when it gets above 85' the driver side sounds like a BB in a plastic bottle. The right side sounds like a speaker is out with the crackling. That usually happens when the car has been running for a bit and it's hotter outside too. I told them at this point they can take the car back if they can't fix it bc I cannot handle the noises as they are very distracting. May as well have a baby screaming the whole time
I googled that bulletin... it is actually for a ticking noise in the b-pillar. View attachment 406 View attachment 407
That looks like it’s for the noise I’ve been hearing from the passenger side of my 2019 Blazer the past few weeks. Thanks for looking it up.
I picked up a 2020 Blazer and have a ticking and rattling noises as well. When I took it in to the mechanic for the first time, no noises were heard! It was also 59F when I drove for a 7:30 AM appointment. Since the mechanic could not hear the noises, I made a video that I emailed to my service advisor. The next appointment is tomorrow at 1:30 PM.

I am pretty sure I have this along with an annoying squeaking/creaking noise coming from the back it sounds like. They serviced the lift gate once for the squeak noise but it did not fix anything. I hear it every morning driving to work and it seems to be louder then compared to later in the day driving home. For a nearly $50K vehicle is squeaks and rattles like a 15 year old car with 200K miles on it.

My passenger pillar sounds like your driver side pillar. It started when the temps and humidity went up in July. The past week has been cool and I don't recall hearing the noise recently. Based on the Bulletin Jerry B posted on the top of page 4 of this thread it seems like an easy fix. Good luck at the dealership. Hope it gets fixed 1st time through...

The service writer did take a look at my video and we confirmed it was my car and video. I handed a bunch of printed resources to the service writer based on what owners found on a forum with similar issues. Any little bit may help! The service writer did show the technician the video of my car and handed the printed resources to the technician. I really felt reassured the issue would be fixed since service was actively listening and saw the video detailing the problem. After about an hour and twenty minutes, the technician performed 19-NA-111 and I was asked to do a ride-along. Prior to exiting the parking lot, the noise could be heard, and we swapped seats for the technician to take the wheel. About 20 minutes later, we tried the test drive again and had similar results. Another 20 minutes passed, and the technician told me they were going to replace the B-Pillar and the part is on backorder. Based on the service ticket, they ordered two parts to replace both the driver and passenger Upper Center Pillar Trim (Part 84631381 and Part 84631384.) Results for replacement parts TBD in a future appointment.

This is an interesting forum as well for rattles and shakes.

Hopefully that fixes it. Please keep us up to date... My rattles have stopped in the colder weather. Hoping it continues.
i guess i've been pretty lucky with my 2020 2LT...no rattles except right after i picked it up...on occasion i would get a rattle sound over certain road conditions from the back seat area....i usually keep the back seats folded down unless i need them for passengers...so all i did was leave them down and slide them all the way back toward the back glass...no rattle since and it has been 2 months...if the rattle returns i will investigate further...
I was feeling around the door and on the bottom where the molding and the door meet from the inside it was loose and I snapped it in hope this stops the rattling.

So sorry man. This is insane. I got fed up. Traded mine in a week ago Friday after less than two months. Ugh. Such a nice car but they need to fix the noises.
I’m thinking of trading my 2019 blazer. These rattles are driving me insane.Any tips on how to trade it in.
Has anyone been successful in fixing the rattles from the b-pillar?

Yeah, take it to the dealership
2019 3LT AWD picked up 12/30/2019. Has 3900 miles. Day 2 noticed that trim on top of drivers door catching on trim or rear door. Dealer says no fix yet. Console lid started to rattle. Added some felt "bumpers" to underside of lid and fixed that. This summer when warm, sounded like the front door was grinding on the rear. Dealer had almost a month, replaced all exterior door trim on left side, still had noise. Ended up replacing outside mirror. Month later, noise coming back along with right front door panel "buzzes", creaks and pops in dash and now have heard a Popping sound coming from area of fuel tank. Once after backing into garage and shutting off, once after turning right from stop and accelerating and again going forward from stop. Pretty sure its fuel pump related, just dont understand why. And I have the b pillar ticking and the issue of having to roll other windows down to stop the "buffeting" noise when the drivers side is the only one down. Paint seems really thin and scratches appear daily. Was in contact with GM for the first noise, have yet to talk to them about the latest. Can honestly say if this was not a lease it would be gone. Now I see its probably recalled due to the auto starter bolts causing transmission fluid leaks. Shame on me for getting a 1st model year.

Me too. Mine went back to the shop tonight. Luckily I am friends with the owner of the Chevy dealership that sold me the the car. Some perks of buying from a small family owned dealership is they care more than lots of the big guys.
Did you friend tell you what issue was that caused rattle and how they fixed it ? I just bought a Blazer RS AWD and same with rattling - started as soon as I pulled it off the lot - ugh - otherwise I LOVE IT
After one year and many issues including rattles in the door & pillar, I am thinking of just getting rid of my RS. Not sure if the quality control sucks in Mexico, or just poor design, but I have had too many issues. Too bad, sharp vehicle.

my b pillar rattle (Which was very subtle) went away after they made the TSB fix. Im surrprised it didnt work for other people.

I just purchased my Blazer RS last November and noticed a lot of noise in the cabin. Part of the problem is the center console that does not close tightly and vibrates at higher speeds. Also read that the doors may be over tightened from factory (don't know how true that may be, but there is noise coming from the doors.

Most likely the B pillar - they know it’s an issue - mine was same pulled it off lot and there was the rattle. They did the tsb fix and that’s gone - now it’s just the darn plastic dealt belt height adjuster - I’m going to put a small piece of foam in it and that should work - unfortunate vehicle was so expensive and having to fix rattles
My rattle seems to be coming from the rear seat. Something underneath the seat is making the noise, but if I slide it up from its rearmost position the rattle stops. My car is going back in.
Did you find a solution ? Mine has the same rear seat rattle.
thanks!
