The headlights are terrible at best. They really need help. Someone responding to my complaint has an adapter on ebay that brightens the DRLs to add a bit more light. Not a solution, but is an improvement.
You are correct. The adapters are a good step in the right direction. GM needs to rethink their placement of the headlights though. They're mounted too low. In fact, they're mounted where Chevy should offer fog lamps. The reason the adapters for the DRLs improves the lighting is that they're mounted high in the fenders to project the light down a roadway.DRL adapters are a great upgrade (I have them) and there are perfect solutions for LED replacement bulbs for headlights. All info is here on these forums.
I agree with everything you're saying. Unfortunately, they started with LEDs in 2023, so everything below that got HIDs. I'll replace mine next year with LEDs. There is a member that posted some nice ones from this site... https://lucas-lighting.comI have actually been quite impressed with the headlights. They are much better than the old Trailblazer it replaced and a little better than my wife's CR-V. I have a 2023 which has LED headlights, I am not sure of the 19s-22s had LED. I kind of like the placement of the headlights. They act as headlights and fog lights. It is also what gives the Blazer the nice aggressive look. We all know the front end is what makes the Blazer special. If you don't like low headlights it looks like you are not going to be a Chevy fan anymore. Every vehicle they have announced recently have low headlights with DRLs above.
Been wanting to upgrade to the Lucas LED but they are so expensive. Looked on eBay a few days ago and found a seller selling them as used, he said he used em a week then traded in the vehicle, but he put the OEM HIDs back in before he traded, then sold them on eBay. so I Got the like new Lucas LED's Lucas for $70 (Retail $349) , installed them yesterday, and WOW are they bright. Very happy with the Lucas LED. Well worth $349 but glad I got to try them for only $70. The only downside is they won't have any warranty. But can't beat the price.I agree with everything you're saying. Unfortunately, they started with LEDs in 2023, so everything below that got HIDs. I'll replace mine next year with LEDs. They are pricey, but the pics that were posted were a vast improvement. However, the wife unit has informed me that I have spent my budget for this year on trivial things, like my Blazer, and the light bulb project will be next year's thing. I have been married to my bride for 34 years, so I have learned to choose wisely the hills to die on, and this was not one.
Well, I'm jealous. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but will eventually. I recently went back through my trim package list and I saw that I may very well have LEDs. I have the Driver Confidence & Convenience packages and it says I have LEDs on that list. I know the Lucas lights are brighter than the ones that come with the Blazer, but I wasn't sure if I had LEDs until I revisited the trim list. Nevertheless, you got a damn good deal on those lights.Been wanting to upgrade to the Lucas LED but they are so expensive.
