Probably wait for chip! I’d say a while
From what I understand they are making cars that are ordered by someone at the dealership a priority and are being shipped with the chips. Seems like getting to production is the longest but it started yesterday. Hopefully we will have it in a few weeks. We actually ordered it like the end of April. So it did take over a month to hit the assembly line.

There were hardly any in stock. Otherwise we would have. The one red RS we did find we would of bought if it hadn’t been for the sunroof. We didn’t want a sunroof. We started production so now the delivery time is all we have to worry about. Anybody know how long for when your car is finished to delivery time. I know the blazer is made in Mexico.guessing a few weeks.

Surprised they are filling orders when new models are ready to be produced and there are lots full of vehicles waiting for chips that will be “holdovers”

yes...they will build it...then it will sit in a lot for months waiting for the "chip"....sorry for the bad news....imo find one on a lot ready to go....
From what I understand cars that are ordered as sold are having the chips put in them before shipping. They are getting first priority. I don’t think it would of went onto the assembly if it was going yo be waiting on a chip. It took over a month to hit the assembly line.
I was just mainly curious of shipping time after it’s done.

I opened a similar thread in January 2020, pre-COVID, mind you. Here's my last post with some dates.

So we ordered a cherry Blazer RS. Was supposed to go into production today. Any ideas on a timeline for delivery from people that have ordered one. So excited to get it. Such a cool car.
My RS was built on July 20, 2020. It was shipped from Mexico on July 27. At the dealership August 7. Had accessories put on and then I picked it up on Aug 15. They build it in one day which is amazing, but it is the shipping that takes time.

Wow where do you live. I live in Indiana. That’s quick shipping. I was thinking it might take a few weeks after it’s done. Do you live in Texas? I wonder if it’s done then. It was supposed to hit production on June 5th. If I remember the sales guy said 1-4 weeks. So maybe will have it soon.

I didn't order one but I bought/put money down on a 2021 pewter metallic 2LT in early March that was in production for a dealership. Was supposed to get it a few weeks after signing and then was bayed because it needed the chip. It is now middle June and the only update I have gotten recently is that it is delayed instead of bayed now. Who knows if that is good or bad tho...

Wow. You would of been better off ordering it as the ones that people actually order are getting preference. Hopefully you get it soon. Seems like 3 months you should be getting it any day.
