Oil Change Question

I did my first one a couple weeks ago, (3.6L). Very easy to do as the filter is towards the front of the engine and easy to get too. I used rhino ramps and was complete in about 1/2 hour, (I let the old oil drain until it was just a drip). Refilled with Mobil 1 5W-30.

I never go off the oil life percentage,
I always do mine every 4K miles no matter what. Some ppl will tell you otherwise, but I work on these vehicles and have seen the insides where ppl go off the oil life which is about 7500 miles or are using that “special oil” that does 8-15k miles And inside looks like crap and sludged. You invested 40-50k on a vehicle, take care of it ?. especially how little tolerances these new engines have and the internal technology “cylinder deactivation” and “2 stage oil pumps” rely very heavily on oil condition to function properly.

Oem filters for me PF63 and recommended dexos 5w30. Or mobil 1
Oem filter for me as well, the dealership gave me a good deal on them. I also do not go by the onboard computer, I usually drain the factory fill around 1000 mi. on my new vehicles then go with 5k oci's after that using a dexos rated synthetic. You will get a diversity of opinions on when to change your oil, you just need to research it a little and make a decision. I agree with what Luis R mentioned above.

- So it's alright to use a pf63 instead of a UPF63r? Our blazers manual only mentions the UPF63r. All the dealers in my area dont use the filter listed in the manual either. I'm unable able to find out the difference, besides the upf63r doesn't burst as easily under high pressure. I dont trust dealers in my area to do an oil change. They only threaded in my drain plug on my impala a couple of turns, leaked huge puddle in my garage. So I'm just following the manual so I can prove I put the filter in gm says to so if I have to have warranty work they cant deny any claim. I can easily see the dealers saying your x problem is not covered because you have not been using the filter that's recommended for your vehicle. They dont tighten oil drain plugs so yea.
Just did my first oil change on my 2020 at 3,000 miles. I used a UPF63R that I bought off Rockauto. I also ordered a Mobil Extend life filter# M1-212A. The Mobil filter is the same exact weight, base plate number, internal bypass color, and visually looks the same. I believe they are both manufactured by Champion Labs-I consider them identical. They can be found on Amazon, Walmart, and Fleet Farm. The factory installed filter was a PF63e but it was a professional model vs the retail model found at Walmart. The professional model is more constructed like the UPF63R. As with all my vehicles, I used Mobil 1 5w-30.
You get one free oil change w/tire rotation. i'm saving my freebie for when I need a tire rotation. Doing my own also gave my a chance to take a look under the vehicle-lol. Overall, very easy change with nothing in the way and filter very easy to get at.
I guess yours has a different one listed because it's a 2019. My 2020 manual never mentions pf63e for v6 or any motor.

Yea... It makes me wonder why they are different. Is the UPF63R an upgrade filter and why is it not in the 2019 manual?
I just hit 2600 miles and want to have my oil changed before I get to 3000 miles. I'd like to do my own 1st oil change, weather permitting, for the reason bmod305 stated. Save the free one for when I need a tire rotation. But I'm going to look at the filter to see if I can see a label on it. I'm curious to know what is installed.
