I changed out the silver lugs for black ones

Car makers like to put silver lugs on black wheels so that they can get customers to pay $300+ for OEM black lugs as an accessory. Well I did not fall for that. I went out and got a set of Gorilla locking lugs I think it makes the wheels look much better. Now to see if I can maybe get a new center cap.

The new lugs look great! It's a nice subtle touch that makes a noticeable difference! What center cap are you looking to get?

You know I don't know. The silver bowtie is probably fine but part of me wishes they had center caps with the Cajun Red bowtie to match the color of my blazer.

That would be cool to match your paint job. I'm sure some aftermarket supplier is going to create one like that.
Always loved center caps that help the vehicle look as OEM as possible, even with aftermarket wheels.
Looks great! I need to do this. Did you buy them direct from Gorilla or somewhere else?

This is a really great idea @bobiroc! I might have to do this as well with mine.

Make sure you torque them to 140 ft lbs. That is the spec in the owner's manual.

Yes I borrowed a torque wrench from the auto shop at the school I worked with to make sure the lugs were properly torqued.
Thought about doing this with McGard locking Lug nuts. Even at my distributor cost on those it was over $100 for a set. Think I might go this route. Thanks for sharing.

think you got ripped. Mine came with black wheel and black lug nuts.

You probably got charged for them. I have seen a few on the lot that have the black lugs and there is a charge for them on the bill of sale. Besides the ones I bought are better. Each lug is locking lug and are more secure than the OEM ones.

Black lugs with locking lock nuts is an option : US $ 275 or CDN $ 355

I know. Not worth the price when there are better options aftermarket. The dealer tried to sell them to me as accessory even offered to lower the price to $200.

I just received these black locking lugs for my Blazer. I'm a little concerned using them. The point of contact for these seems less substantial than the factory lug nuts. Bobiroc, have you had any issues with the lugs after using them for nearly a year?

I have had zero issues with these lugs. I purchased them on the recommendation of several gearhead friends of mine. They highly recommended them and I know that they use them on their own cars.

Thank you; that's reassuring. I like the look, they're just quite different from the standard ones I'm so accustomed to. I've got the 20" gloss wheels, but I'm sure they fit the same as on the 21s. Thanks again for the recommendation and the quick response!

You are welcome. My friends that use them on their cars also said they are some of the most secure lugs out there.
