My Chevrolet App. Remote Commands costs money now?
Just another item to add to the list of disappointments from Chevrolet. I have used the app just about every day for the last 5-6 years ( and confirmed by Instar this morning by phone) and now it will cost at least $12 per month, PER VEHICLE. I have purchased a 2019 Tahoe ($80K) and leased a 2019 Blazer ($50K) this year but they still need $288 from me to use a stinking cell phone application. Maybe this year they will make $40B instead a piddly $25B.

my fault- the only part that is free for 5 years is the remote diagnostic feature. The remote start functionality is tied to having a subscription- apparently its been that way since 2015 MY

Yes, I hate OnStar with a passion. Never give these people your Credit Card as they are almost always going to keep charging you.
My Blazer stickered at 50k and getting "free" OnStar/My Chevrolet for 30 days is an insult. GM should pull their head out their ass on this. I actually looked at 4Runner TRD Pro a few years ago I was unhappy with OnStar. I have been a loyal GM customer since 1979 when I got my 1976 Trans Am at 19 years old. (Dont ask about insurance rates!)
I would die in a slow car fire before I pay the criminal enterprise known as OnStar. When we took delivery of the Blazer we had to speak with a CS rep at OnStar and as soon as she figured I was not giving my CC she pretty much ended the call. Our long time dealer knows how we feel about OnStar so he could only shake his head.

I'm right there with you! Sirius/XM has the same questionable billing practices.
I had better luck with Sirius/XM but I watch them closely. I actually am paying $6.25 per month through May 2021 for my Blazer. I put a memo on my calendar to call about 45 days before the plan auto renews and give them a sob story and then I get a really good deal. Not a lot of time or effort.

If you let the trial expire call onstar, tell them you won’t pay that much and you want to pay for the year. 79.90 is what I got a year for.
6.65 a month is a lot better than 14.99!
Also there is an xm dealer app for iOS that lets you renew the free trial. You just have to be near a dealer to reactivate.
