I am in LOVE!

I purchased a 2019 Chevy Blazer RS with upgraded options of the premier for my birthday and I am in love!!

DISCLAIMER; I have never own a Blazer before.

I was looking up forums so I could compare thoughts about it but a lot of people are really dragging the new Blazer in the mud without giving it chance. I have never owned a Blazer before but I love the new and improved look of this one. It’s BOSSY and commands attention at first glance. I have gotten so many looks and compliments. The interior is gorgeous and very comfortable. It sits high enough for me so I don’t feel like I’m looking directly into the car of the oncoming traffic. I really like the red accents of the interior too although I see some are complaining the interior doesn’t match the car. I personally didn’t want it to match. I think it gives it a sportier look in the inside. I was looking for a sportier SUV and nothing match the bill for me. My previous car was a completely blacked out 2009 Nissan Maxima Sport with technology and luxury package so that Nightcrawl Gray, with black 21’ Alloy wheels, black interior and red accents of the 19' Chevy Blazer called my name loud and clear!! I am not disappointed either, it drives like a beast on the road with great control and assistance from blind spot monitor and lane assistance. The infotainment works like a dream and is user friendly; with all its capabilities, I don’t feel confused or lost when using it. The cabin is so quiet when driving on the road/highway, it feels like your gliding. The options are ridiculous, I think I can do everything from my vehicle but cook a meal…LOL! The only issue I have had so far
Land vehicle Vehicle Car Automotive tire Tire
was defrosting; the front window would not clear all the way. I realized later if I cracked the window, it works like a dream! All and all I am absolutely thrilled with my new baby; Midnight Red

Congrats on getting your RS. Did you test out any other SUV's before deciding on the Blazer?

Congrats! Your RS looks AMAZING !!! I am also a first time Blazer & Chevrolet owner and noticed the same "meh" type attitude when reviewing forums & reviews. This car is so much different than anything else I've driven. I wasn't even in the market to buy a new car just yet - but once I saw it, I had to have it. So far the only thing I'm not loving the auto stop feature only cause it feels a bit jerky when it turns off then back on.

You can defeat the auto stop. Shift it into L, tap up to 9 and drive. It will shift normally and NOT auto stop.

Welcome to the forum @LadyB258 and congratulations on your new RS! it really looks great in all black. What made you decide to switch from a sedan to a SUV?

Well if you really try you can cook while you drive, Google 'Manifold cooking '. I love my RS also, even though I come from performance cars in the past. It is a nice height to get in, no ducking or climbing.

I think that's because everyone wanted Chevrolet to launch a Trackhawk rival or just something like it. They'll have to wait a bit longer for the Corvette SUV. Apparently Chevy is serious about it. Once it happens, I hope some of it rubs off on the Blazer.

Yes, I test drove Jeep Grand Cherokee and Lincoln MKX. Also looked at Jaguar F-Pace (1st choice) but after I saw the Blazer it was wrap!

Really, I wanted to get off the groud (oncoming headlights was becoming a issue) and more space. Plus I have always wanted one.

THANK YOU SO MUCH ! It shifts so much smoother.

Great! I had an Equinox with the auto stop and learned how to defeat it when wanted with the shift into L. That said, the only mention in the owners manual is in the “Driving and Operating” section. It says the “engine may remain running, if the shift lever is in any gear other than Drive (D).” Well, it’s not just “May” it definitely will remain running if shifted into L. The key of course is to also tap up to 9, after shifting into L.

Glad it helped. :).

Lexus is on my list of brands to look out for on a hot SUV. So far they haven't done so but its possible. Aside from Jaguar its the only other luxury automaker I might go with.
Did you get seat time in the F-Pace?
Such a nice Birthday Present. Welcome to the Blazer RS club
Its sure to make for an unforgettable birthday.

So far Blazer's are holding up well enough so at least the memories will be positive, so far!
