Did you ever find out what the issues was? I just got my left fuel sensor replaced because it was not reading correctly and it seemed to have made the problem worse. I was driving on the highway, one second it shows almost half a tank the next it dropped down to zero and after I put in 20 $ it's still didn't read any gas.

they fixed it. It had something to do with a fuel sensor and some cable or something that was wrapped around something in the fuel tank that prevented the float from rising properly. The write up was hard to follow on the receipt, but the issue is resolved.
My issues was resolved, apparently it was a loose grounding strap in the engine housing.
