Ditching Jeep, getting a Blazer

I've owned my Grand Cherokee WK2 5.7 since 2013. It has 80k miles. I planned on running it until it rusted apart. I loved it, but it's been nothing but issues. After broken manifold bolts at 30-35k miles, water pump failure at 40k miles, struts at 60ish (not awful, but not great), and now I've had it to 3 mechanics in the last 2 weeks for a knocking engine noise which has been diagnosed as a valve train issues. My mechanic that opened up the top of the engine suggested a new engine rather than fixing the internal engine issues. I'm throwing in the towel and getting a Blazer. I have done all routine maintenance and taken immaculate care of the Jeep. Shit happens, but the issues have completely soured me on anything Chrysler related.

I looked at blazer last night and loved it (except the color - it was a god awful tan/brown color). Thursday I'm looking at a few locally and probably pulling the trigger soon. I will likely get the 3lt AWD V6 version as I can't justify the additional $$ for the RS version.

I traded in my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee for the Blazer.. I said the same thing for years about my jeep that I'm just going to run it into the ground and drive it until it's not drivable anymore.. Well as soon as I saw the Blazer (First car I owned was a Camaro) fell in love with the style and being in MN need a 4WD car. When I get older I'll probably get a Camaro or weekend car but for now I can only afford one vehicle. So far I love everything about the Blazer but I do miss the Jeeps turn radius.. Not sure my dog likes it though since she had free reign over anywhere in the jeep and I keep her in the back seat buckled up now. ? She comes to work with me everyday.

Did you consider any other vehicles or were you only focused on the Blazer?

I was focused on the Blazer. While there are many nice options in the crossover SUV market, besides the WK2 Jeep there wasn't a styling that stood out to me until the Blazer which drew me in. Also the V6 engine has been around in other vehicles which helped with the dependability aspect for me. I like the towing capability of the Hemi WK2, but it is overkill for what I tow (1 RXT-X Seadoo - dry weight op 850lbs plus trailer) so the towing capacity of the Blazer is substantial enough for me.

Opt for the 2020. A few problematic kinks have apparently been worked out.

I have had zero problems with mine. It was purchased before the strike. I believe they fired everyone during the strike and began the learning curve again.
I took advantage of the KungFlu on 03/25 and traded in my 2018 Jeep renegade for a base model 2019 Blazer. The Renegade was a base model too but it had a lot of features like remote start, 4 wheel drive and a great infotainment system. The downside is that the space was limited. There was little luggage room and two people up front had to fight over the armrest. I lost the remote start and 4 wheel drive but gained auto headlights, needed space, luggage capacity, tinted rear windows, bigger tires, engine with more torque and HP, smoother transmission and MOST of all I got cup holders that are easy to get to. Also, the Renegade is the one Jeep model that is 100% made in Italy. I was becoming a bit alarmed that an Italian Chrysler was going to be out of warranty in 16 months. It was a solid deal and I regret nothing.
