Dash Going Dark

What did Chevy do to fix this issue ? Mine starting doing same thing - I have 2021 Blazer RS - and I’m right at 2800 miles
They couldn't get it to replicate, but luckily I had the videos.
They replaced the instrument cluster. That night and next morning was the only time it acted up. It never happened again. Either, while I was waiting for the parts to arrive or after install.

So I got my vehicle back and they replaced the exact same thing you said they did to yours - they couldn’t get it to replicate and I had sowed them out Covid so they just did the same as what they did for you
what did these mechanics and dealerships do before there were customer forums to bring answers back to them ? I know they probably would’ve sent me back home and not did anything -unfortunately - we will see what happens come next winter and the cold

Does the vehicle itself shut off or just the dash board goes dark? Mine did it this morning as well and I'm hoping it doesn't do it again but am curious if it was just the dash and didn't shut off the engine. Thanks much!

So far after they replace those modules in dash - it seems to have corrected the issue - so far .... stay tuned for when weather gets super cold again

Other than the dash going out, nothing else seems to be affected. No issues with the car running and the service manager told me that it was perfectly safe to drive (implied it was not the first time he’d seen this issue).

Thanks so much for the response. When I called my dealer this morning they said they had never heard of the issue (yeah) and couldn't do anything unless they could duplicate the issue. Hopefully this is a 'do it twice and be done with it' kind of thing. Thanks again!

I had the thought very quickly to whip my cell phone out and record it so I could show dealer service Dept - and I took a copy of convo on this forum of what another dealer did abs showed them that as well - I knew the service sept would say exactly what you’ve stated - “can’t replicate - can’t fix - that’s BS

Alright..one week with a stinky loaner car later and my Blazer is back home. My service guy told me that there is a new software update that fixes the issue as long as it’s caught in time. If not (mine was definitely not) it burns out the cluster which needs to be replaced.

My 21 blazer RS started doing this at 3k miles and then at 4K miles I got this message that said “program cluster” I would just dismiss it because everything was working now at 6200 miles the center where the digital speed is displayed doesn’t work. I can’t rotate through the menu any longer. Hope they can just replace the cluster and it’s fixed going in next week for service
Just had the same thing happen to my 2021 blazer at 3500km (2200 freedom units), I was testing all the other electrical and turning on and off the interior lights made the dash to light up again, I'll be bringing it in next week to talk to them about this 2 month old car acting up.

I bought mine in May 2021. It did it once about a month ago. Today did the same thing... guess its time to call the shop. I have 4218 miles

I just bought a 21 blazer a month ago. I travel with it and has about 2000 miles on it. My car randomly turns off while driving. It will act like it’s having a hard time staying on by slightly revving up and down. It eventually shuts off. This is with the auto start on and off. Also, when I turn it back on, I’ll push on the gas pedal and it does not register to pick up and go until seconds later. Something isn’t right. Taking to a Chevy dealership hopefully tomorrow. This is BS. Advice?

My 2021 B;azer RS (at about 19k miles) is doing the dashboard reboot and I will be taking a video of the problem before going to my dealer. I also will be referencing him to GM document ID 5756501 (#21-NA-054: Instrument Cluster Resets) for further information as to how to address this problem. I will post later how/what they do to fix the problem.

I had the same issue I took it to And they replaced all the modules in the dash and I haven’t had a problem with that issue since then
