Chip for seats 2022

I purchased my Blazer in December of 2021 and was told my chip for the seats would be in in July. I'm still waiting a year later. I was told by someone that the dealership I purchased my car from is too smaller and GM isn't concerned because of it's size. Is anyone else still waiting.

Please do a search on the site for this topic. I personally have posted information, along with others, about this. I apologize if I come across as short, but I just don't want to repost the information again. You'll find what you're looking for here, though.

The short version is, you will get a letter from GM once your group has come up for detail. Call the Dealer you purchased from, or another GM Dealer, and tell them you have the letter and you are ready. They will order the module(s) the chips reside in and then schedule an appt. with you once the mod(s) come in. The letter from GM will be your trigger to get the ball rolling.

I have posted a redacted letter that I recently received from GM about my chips. This is what you, too, will receive in the mail... eventually. I purchased my Blazer back in January this year and just got my letter a week, or so, ago. I've contacted my purchasing Dealer and they have ordered the mod. I will go in next week sometime and have them install said mod. I just needed the chip for heated and ventilated front and rear seats. I would call the Customer Service 800 number at the bottom of my letter and see if you can get an ETA on your situation. The Dealer will know nothing and isn't notified by GM about your chips. You will be notified first by GM, and then you notify the Dealer you have this letter.

Have you received the letter yet?

I purchased my Blazer in May and just had my heated seat chip installed last week. I never received letter but had my service advisor check the system under my vehicle and it showed the chip was available so he ordered it. I also found that if you have the GM app that when you logon, check under recall status. It will show there also if your chip is available.

Yep, that's another way of finding out if they're available. However, the process that was explained to me at the time of purchase was the letter and then contacting the dealer. It's good you can also have the dealer look it up for you. Keep this in mind, because recall status says the chip is available, doesn't mean that the dealer is ready to install the chip. The module has to be ordered, then the dealer sets you up for the appt. to get the chip installed. My dealer has the module on order, but they have a backlog right now to install chips. My chip is probably sitting in the parts dept. Depending on how popular the dealer is and how many of these Blazers they sold will probably dictate how fast you get your chip(s). I had heard in the past that GM was allocating batches of chips to the dealers that sold more inventory and were large in size. I'm not sure how much truth there is in that. I guess it's a good thing the dealer has a backlog. That means that chips are now being released on a more regular basis.

That's great!

I'm finding out though, the letter is exciting to receive, but they have had my modules on order now for two weeks and no telling when those will get to the dealership. What a [email protected]#!%.
Just a follow-up on the chips for my front and rear seats. They came in yesterday. I purchased my Blazer on January 22. So, it took around a year for mine to come in.

On another note... for those who are having issues with the driver's side mirror not auto-dimming at night, like me, there is now an official recall on that. I'm reading it's most likely a wiring harness that wasn't installed at the manufacturer.

* I am EdH above. I created a second account and accidentally logged in under the one above. So, I'm reposting this as my active account, Tip Of The Spear.

Glad you finally got yours. It took me about 10 months to get my chips for seats. Still waiting on heated steering wheel.

My dealership found the wire issue on my auto dimming mirror couple weeks after I purchased it in January 2022. The original wire harness is missing a connector for the dimming mirror. They ordered replacement ones with the same issue. Took a few weeks to get the correct harness back then and were dealing with GM on it. I was not surprised it became a recall.
