My 2019 Blazer has some serious electrical issues. It suddenly and out of nowhere started alerting Service esc, power steering assist problem, brake assist problem etc etc.. would clear the notifications and they would all come up without fail. Took it in to the dealer and they kept it for about a week. Told me they suspected the EBCM module and replaced it. Have had no issue for 8 weeks. Yesterday, started again but worse this time. The Navigation system was impacted as well as all of the same alerts being displayed. The GPS seemed to malfunction and think I was somewhere else and behave very oddly. The only thing that I can think of was that we had a crazy storm the night before it started this time. Major rain. I’m thinking water leak and electrical issues.
I must say that I love the vehicle, for the most part, but I have noticed that the weather stripping and seals around the trunk hatch and the windows are not the best quality. The trunk seal sometimes sticks in hot weather and prevent the auto opener from working. They seals around the windows are already cloudy and discoloured from weather. I suspect inferior quality on all seals on this vehicle. I’m concerned that it is going to be a major ongoing issue and my warranty will come to an end in a year… perhaps I’ve made a huge mistake buying this. Sigh.
UPDATE
Turns out there is a new TSB for this electrical issue. Was released just this last week. The wiring harness rubs against the battery bracket and wears the sheath, exposes the wires and with very wet conditions, will start to cause these issues. They cut out the worn wires and replaced them and secured the harness away from the bracket. Now I wait to see if it has resolved.
UPDATE 2
Not resolved. Problem went away for a couple of weeks after they repaired some wiring, as part of the TSB, but has now returned. Random alerts from the vehicle for service esc, power steering problem, traction control problem, parking brake problem, etc.. very concerned as they have tried on two separate occasions to correct this and it seems they don’t know what the source of the issue is. I’m so worried that my warranty will expire and this will become my problem. A new vehicle with 15,000km on it should not be experiencing these issues. I think there may be a major electrical system issue. Called the dealership to figure out what to do now. So frustrating. I’m starting to regret buying this blazer.
