We have a somewhat old chamberlain garage opener and we're trying to pair it with our Blazer. We no longer have an original remote but we do have a universal one that operates the door. We tried following the instructions to pair the remote with the Blazer but the lights never flash. Next we tried using the learn button on the operator. This seems to succeed but doesn't operate the door. What I mean by seams to is, after pressing the learn button, we quickly press the number 1 button in the Blazer 3 times and the light on the operator flashes and it comes out of learn but. So this seems like it succeeded but it won't open or close the door.

Any suggestions?

when i paired mine all i did was activate the learn button on the garage door motor and then held down the button on the vehicle overhead for 5 seconds...?

Older Chamberlin operators are not compatible with newer remotes. I suspect you are experiencing a similar issue with paring with the Blazer. I would say the fix is replacing the operator.
