We bought a 2020 Blazer three weeks ago. Last week it was dripping coolant fluid. Brought it back to the dealer. They had to overnight a part and replaced a line and pump that went to the air conditioner. They had the car for two full days and I picked it up on the third day. Yesterday, the backup as well as the forward and side cameras stopped working. Back to the dealer again for a different problem. I only have 300 miles on the car, and half of them were for driving back and forth to the dealership. Very frustrating to say the least. Still waiting for the dealership to diagnose the current problem. At least the dealership has been good about this so far. Anyone else have the cameras just stop working?

The dealer replaced the camera on ours too. It worked for a very short time and then it stopped again. The dealer had a "specialist" from GM look at it and they had to replace the video processing unit. That part was on back order (does that mean it is a common problem?). 10 days later the item was installed and so far no problems (two weeks). The dealer has been very good about the whole issue.

When our dealer replaced ours we had to wait almost a month but was told it was because GM was making ventilators instead of parts. Since June we have also had the motor on the drivers side seat replaced since it stopped working and we also just had the transmission replaced. Each repair took around 1 month as they said they were waiting on parts.

Oh man!!! How horrible is that. I was frustrated with our wait. I don't know if I could have handled what you went through. Hopefully, you never have to have any other service done except the oil changes etc...

Can you please tell if replacing the video processing unit permanently fixed the camera problem because my 2020 Blazer RS has the same problem with only 100 miles on it and going to bring to dealer next week so i would tell them to test video processing unit before replacing other parts.

As you probably read in an earlier message, the dealer replaced the rear camera and it worked for a very short time and then stopped. So, after replacing the video processing unit, it has been working. That has been three weeks now and so far no problems with it. Keeping my fingers crossed. I bet when you bring your car in, they will do the same and replace the camera first. it only took about 10 attempts of putting the car in reverse and testing the cameras before it stopped. So, if they do replace just the camera, test it out a bunch of times before leaving the dealership. Good luck and let me know how it went.

There is a service bulletin for a camera issue that creates a blue screen and and error message that says "Service Rear Vision System" when reversing. I had this issue this morning (no backup or surround camera, just a blue screen) and looked it up. Here is the link:

I also tried the camera button on the infotainment system during my drive to work. The icon would just blink when I tapped it. Nothing else. I've read the issue might go away after the next reboot of the system. I guess I'll find out when I head home from work tonight...

* UPDATE EDIT *
The camera came back when I started the Blazer after work and was still working this morning. We did have a lot of rain the morning it failed. I wonder if that had anything to do with it. I guess I'll just keep an eye on it...

I still have mine and this issue does pop up from time to time. I never did get the service done because the issue happens so infrequently (2-3 times per year max). Seems it has something to do with heavy rain. It only seems to happen after a very heavy downpour.

Funny that this just happened to me the same day I made that last post. It hadn't happened for months. There was no heavy rain that day but there was a day earlier. I did have a very full storage area after shopping at Costco however. I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

I just made an appointment for an oil change at the dealership so I am going to have them take a look at the service bulletin I posted above. Hopefully that will fix it for good.

FYI - I took my Blazer to the dealership to have them perform the programming TSB I linked to above. However, I already had the latest update. They did some diagnostics and found a circuit board was going bad. They ordered the part and replaced it under warranty. Seems to be working fine since the replacement.

I got lucky because the day I took it in happened to be the last day of my 36 month warranty and the dealership actually cared enough to make sure they got everything in to make sure it was covered. This was all done on a Saturday when they typically don't do diagnostics. Saturday for them is basically a day for oil changes and tire rotations. My hat's off to the service rep. I had. He's a good one.
