Once it rotates that small amount (20-30 degrees) it simply pulls out. It is a standard bulb holder w/ three locking lugs. How did you guys remove the reverse light bulb holder? I can't pull it out whatever I do. I can only turn it counterclockwise just a little, and that's it.
Thanks for a prompt reply. I can only rotate them a few degrees, definitely not 20-30 degrees, and then they're stuck, and I'm afraid to break them if I apply too much force.Once it rotates that small amount (20-30 degrees) it simply pulls out. It is a standard bulb holder w/ three locking lugs.
Just turn counterclock and pull, sometimes it got really stuck there (I'm waiting for mine to arrive but I was testing the waters and drivers side is really stuck, passenger side was easier to turn)I'm sorry, I still don't understand why I can't remove those bulb holders. I've replaced a lot of bulbs and I've never had a problem like that before. Do your bulb holders look like the one on the right in the picture below? Did you simply rotate them counterclockwise and then pull? Did you use any tool? I can only rotate them a couple degrees, and that's it.

I was afraid to apply too much force and break them, but I finally had to use my pliers, and then I was able to rotate those stubborn things. The rest took a few minutes.Just turn counterclock and pull, sometimes it got really stuck there (I'm waiting for mine to arrive but I was testing the waters and drivers side is really stuck, passenger side was easier to turn)
I had the same problem (see above). Then I used my pliersI can’t get my back up light bulb to turn counterclockwise any ideas
Thanks 😊I had the same problem (see above). Then I used my pliers![]()
I have upgraded my last three cars & trucks to LED backup lights. The backup camera needs a little extra lighting in really dark conditions and LED replacement bulbs are the solution.I bought on Amazon Sirius Led 921 EG and it a huge improvement over the factory one. Easy installation from the inside hatch panel. Just take out the small little panel to have direct acess to the incandescent bulb. No problem at all since the installation 3 months ago.
