Anyone else notice these things on their new Blazer?

I have a 2021 Blazer 2LT with the 3.6L and AWD options fitted on it. I took delivery in November '21 and noticed a couple things in the few months since owning that I wanted to get some opinions on here about to know if its a common occurrence/normal or something worth bringing up when I take to the dealership later this month to get a window scratch fixed. Here's what I've noticed:
  • It's only happened to me a couple of times and usually when I apply moderate to heavy force on my brake pedal, but there will be a grinding noise that comes from the wheels while coming to a stop. I don't notice any visible gouges or scratches to the rotors but have heard from one other person that their brake pads were faulty from the factory and he had to go them fixed at a dealer. Has anyone else had this problem? Is this more common than I think?
  • for the AWD models, I know that these Blazers will remember if your are in X2 or X4 mode whenever you turn off and restart the vehicle, but whenever I'm in sport, trail, or tow mode and shut the vehicle off, it defaults back to X2 mode. is this true for everyone else?
  • I know that almost all (if not all) new vehicles today have an electronically controlled throttle, but the tachometer seems to lag a bit whenever I'm accelerating quickly. For example, if im in a highway gear coasting at around 2000 rpm and trying to pass someone, I accelerate pretty quickly and can feel/hear the engine accelerating but the needle on the tachometer wont budge from 2000 rpm until the engine gets to 3000 rpm and then it'll suddenly jerk over to reflect the correct rpms. Is this common for these vehicles? Does anyone else notice the same thing?
  • I don't have the Driver confidence and convenience package on my vehicle or whichever package it is that upgrades you to a BOSE sound system throughout the car. The non-bose factory speakers in the door panels seem to suck and have a lot of static noise whenever a song with mid to high level bass is played. is this just poor quality speakers or is mine possibly faulty?

1. Haven’t noticed any issue with brakes
2. I believe this is normal
3. That is odd to me, ours does not
4. Speakers should not do that
2021 RS AWD Here

1. No braking issues here
2. Yes that is how it is programmed
3. My Tach does not do that either
4. Same radio in my RS, not sure how hard you are pushing it but I have experienced no issues with my speakers.

One thing I have experienced that I wanted to ask about, will start a new thread and you can reply there to it.
1. Yes, loud squeaking noise at 15K miles, Known issue, took to dealer twice for my 2020 Blazer, finally they told me all rotors would be 'turned', Aftrer that the issue was resolved. But they will Not Service advise on it, you May have to request Serv. Mgr. review or (Last Resort: tell them you would like to start a GM Case).
2. N/A to my vehicle (FWD)
3. No Tachometer issues, but first 500 miles should not be accelerating too quickly, unless emergency.
4. I have Driver confidence and convenience package. Speakers should not crackle, (unless they have been overloaded)

I have the Brake noise going on. It’s at the dealer now. I’ll post the results are when I get the Blazer back.
Yes happens on my. Always resets to 2WD.
Did have that happen hit the gas hard excepting to accelerate, lag then she took off. Sorry to the peeps I cut off.
Also happened to my JK Jeep’s.
Also have the lurching of the transmission at low speeds, let off the gas, then back on and kinda gets jerky into gear?

I would bring it all up. Everything should be covered under the factory warranty bumper to bumper part. I have s 2019 premier and don't have any issues. The x2 and x4 is normal tho
2021 Blazer LT2 less then 3,800 miles.
Yep, brake Pads are getting replaced. There is a bulletin on that with Soft Brake pad Material so the dealer is replacing those. That's your grinding noise.
Also it had been lurching a low speeds, the torque converter is being replaces. Dealer said the have seen a lot of both issues.
No recalls but if you bring it in with that complainant they will fix it.
FYI going to ask the dealer to buy it back. Or we can do battle with the lemon law.
I will be very vigilant now that I know what I know, bringing it back to the dealer for the least hiccup with the transmission.
Yes! 'lurching of the transmission at low speeds, let off the gas, then back on and kinda gets jerky into gear'
Been at the dealer for 9 days now. I am going to drop off the loaner they gave me today, and pick up a check. The dealer is giving me back what I paid for it plus. They bought it back. Happy as can be. Going back to the Jeep brand.
Or getting something used. Good Luck!

Glad your dealer took care of you. My dealer took advantage of me and stuck me paying 8k on mine. Had a 2021 rs was in shop 15 times with less than 10k miles.

Did you notice any factor warnings? I have a 2019 blazer premier and I still have all the factor warranties even the bumper to bumper is tell 2023 and the other is till 2024. Or 50,000 miles I have 11600 miles on it.

I HAD THE FACTORY AND EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE DEALER KEPT TELLING ME COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE NUMEROUS VIDEOS SHOWING ALL THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES. HAD THREE CLAIMS WITH GM AND THEY DENIED ME FOR A BUYBACK. WENT TO GET A LAWYER FOR LEMON LAW AND TOLD ME IT WOULD BE 18-24 MONTHS. GM ALSO STATED NO ONE ELSE WAS HAVING THESE ISSUES.

I had problems with the 2020 3lt flashing code about blinker malfunctioned. Our dealer had that thing everywhere I only got to put abut 300 miles on it all summer.lonstory short... my Chevy dealer found me a 2019 premium with less miles, worth alot more changed my GM black rims on it for 1,000 more. They treated me like royalty but then again I did just give them a check for 40,000. In the end GM master mechanics came and couldn't figure it out and too it back with them.
So yes get a lawyer and sue them for the amount car, keep all receipts and for you layer. Could also try different Dealer shit.

Yes, I have had the brake grinding issue as well.

Hello Former Chevrolet service drive manager and Chevrolet certified sales associate.

There is a known issue with the front brakes.
have your dealer check them under this bulletin.
“#21-NA-142: Front Brake Grind/Groan Noise After Sitting Overnight - (Sep 23, 2022)”
I just had my brake pads replaced and rotors scuffed. Now they are working fine for now.

When you have the Sport mode on and shut the car off it will go back to 2wd. The only time it won’t go back to 2wd is if it was in standard 4wd. This is normal operation.
  • No grinding issues, but I only have about 5000 miles so far.
  • Yeah, not holding the specialty AWD modes is normal.
  • It's not so much the tach being laggy, as it is the powertrain doesn't downshift on time, so the RPMs stay high, even after taking your foot off the pedal.
  • I have the Infotainment 3 package, which sounds fine.
Update on my original post now that I've put a couple more miles on my Blazer and it's been broken in a little more:
  • brake noise issue has been resolved. I took to the dealer that sold me the vehicle and explained what was happening. they were able to fix it under the manufacturer warranty and I have not noticed the issue since. What I was told by the techs and believe myself is that the brake pad material put on the vehicle from the factory was the source of the problem because of it being a low quality part.
  • This issue has been answered y the multiple posts on here and I now know this is a normal occurrence.
  • When accelerating and shifting between gears, I do notice that it is bit smoother and the tach does not lag as much. I agree with BlackDragon though tat the transmission lags with the tach and that's just one of those things you cant really do much about with the stock configuration.
  • This issue i haven't noticed recently and it hasn't bothered me since. Perhaps it was just me being a little too picky? I don't know audio systems and components too well, but I have heard before that there is an initial break-in procedure with new sound systems before they sound their best. Maybe this was the case?
Regardless, thanks to all for their input!
