Hello,
New here, just picked up my 2021 blazer today. Has tried the range AFM disabler in there Blazer?

I almost ordered it but then decided to ask them if it would work with a Blazer, and the answer was "no."
I called today and the technician told me it possibly could, but it’s not guaranteed. I found that they do have them for the 2018 traverse with with same motor and 9 speed transmission and ordered that one. I figured that was my best chance of it working. It’ll be here tomorrow! If it works great if not I ordered through Amazon so returning will be easy.
Good luck, and please let us all know if it works.
question....why would anyone want to disable AFM?

The first iterations of it were supposedly hard on cams and clunky in operation unlike the newer versions of it which are pretty much seamless and do not cause engine issues. Old information dies hard.......

My Blazer does the same. Except that I would describe the noise as low chattering, not rattling.
So it appears the plug did work as my blazer is not going into v4 mode anymore. I’m not noticing a huge difference in the ride or drivability, but Definitely less hesitation on acceleration and it seems to cruise at constant speed better.

Good to know, thanks.

Interesting, seems like it might be an actual thing on the earlier Blazer setup. There’s a lot of chatter on the Silverado forums as well as anything else that’s used AFM about how it causes all sorts of running issues, maintenance problems, kills puppies, etc. but no actual issues the latest iterations actually do anything bad. But if anyone says they have ANY issues with their vehicle, like a door not closing right, everyone screams AFM!!!! That’s one reason I barely look at those forums anymore.

Honestly, I’ve seen the V4 symbol maybe 3 times now in just over 2 months with the Blazer so I’m not even sure it really is doing much in the 2021s. I can make the V4 kick in easily on my Silverado, it does it all the time, and there’s a definite mild “jerk” as it turns on and off but it’s very seamless and I can get 21 mpg on the highway very repeatably if I stay under 75mph. So I’d say it’s doing it’s job, 72.000 miles on that truck and runs like a top; my Blazer still isn’t averaging over 22mpg on the same roads, the same trip at the same speeds, kinda disappointed in that.

My wife's 2020 came with it built into the dashboard.

Active Fuel Management. Where it shuts off at a stop sign or light.

AFM is right but that’s where it switches between V4 and V6 mode, you’re describing Autostop which is different and some years have the OEM button.

Oh, I hate that! Wish you could turn that off, like on some other cars.
