I've owned a far amount of suvs and pickups in my lifetime but I never have owned one that handles so poorly on ice and snow. Run it in fwd or awd it really makes little difference. It is so bad we are thinking of trading it for something else, Has anyone experienced the same issue and if you have what did you do to resolve it?

Don't know if you have 20'' or 21'' wheels but you should install winter tires on 18'' or 20'' wheels. I bought 18'' wheels with Continental winter tires and my Blazer RS is like a tank in deep snow and have excellent traction on ice.

My 21 RS has the 265/45R21 tires and it seams to wonder or jog on the icy roads, even at 50 km/hr. On clear roads it oversteers or torque steers. When you are at highway speeds and you give it half throttle while changing lanes it oversteers. I took it to the dealership twice. The last visit they charged my a wheel balance and wheel alignment (both were mildly out of adjustment). This didn't fix the issue. I wonder if this is tire related.

Update. Took it back to the dealership after the weekend and told them I think the wheel alignment is still out. They checked again and told me they had a junior tech do it last week and the alignment is still out. They re-did the alignment and now it handled the icy roads fine.

Are we talking AWD here or front wheel? which tires do you have?
We have a 2020 premier AWD that's new to us and heading into our first winter with it.
We have the original 21" continental tires on it. Thanks.

My RS has FWD and AWD settings. Original continental cross contact xl sport tires. It oversteers in all settings.

Thanks, I'll have to see which tire is on ours and do some research.
As I see many different Continental tires offered, to really compare apples to apples.
Some may have winter or some may have the sport/performance type.
Not sure what the problem is for now.

I have posted on other threads as well and you figured it out, the new Blazer is not a true off road vehicle, like the Trailblazer was. This is a crossover and when you have sport tires you will have issues in the snow/ice. AWD or FWD will not make difference if the tire is not correct for snow/ice.

There are many Blazer's that came from the factory with the alignment out of spec mine included. I live in Michigan so Christmas eve was scary with all my family in the car. The dealer fixed it and this thing does great. I was a Snowplow driver for 22 years so i have some insight. Check that alignment

I have the Blazer RS 2019 model, and I just put on the 21" Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires (after 26K and Continental tires I HATED ...). I can drive now in rain, winter snowy conditions in AWD, and I'm telling you my car is grabbing evrywhere. Turns are actually fun to go into with bad weather as I feel like my car has a new grip to it with the road. They were pricey but WELL WORTH the money in my opinion.Good luck with whatever you do ... hope you the best

That's actually a great point! I saw the old alignment, and the new alignment Belle Tire did when I put on my new Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires and it was some pretty aggressive changes in the alignment. But, it sure seems to be grabbing great now and I too live in Michigan.

We have a 21 fwd Chevy Blazer and it is by far the worst vehicle we have ever driven in snow or ice. We have the 20" wheels which may be part of the issue. The back end of the vehicle is so squirrelly there is no controlling it. We had a 17 Equinox before this Blazer and it was much better. Ron from Iowa
