4 years out is a long time in the auto industry and I don't think they should wait that long for a hybrid version. We have seen some really impressive concepts from students over the past few months though, and this is a great way to essentially get free R&D.
Oddly enough GM seems to have pulled the plug on Cadillacs sole hybrid plug in model, the CT6. I suppose with the value that can be found in various hybrids from Honda and Toyota that a lot of people don't see the need to shop up segment.
America's fasciation with crossovers is a bit puzzling, especially with the prices that we are currently seeing on gasoline. That's one of the leading factors as to why everything is going CVT. Luckily we wont be seeing that on the Blazer.
