Recently when parking my car I receive a message on the DIC that I need to shift to park after turning the engine off however the car is in park.
I looked it up and the first thing is a GM article saying that this occurs on blazer/ traverse and Acadia models.
Has anyone else experienced this problem is it something I can prolong getting fixed and how long does the repair take.

This happened to my 2017 Chevy Malibu. If I remember correctly, they had to replace the shifter assembly. The work was completed the same day. Make sure when you get that message your radio and such turns off after exiting the vehicle. My radio, and lights all stayed on. Nice to know three years later, this is still an issue with Chevy vehicles. I have a 2019 RS Blazer now.

Update: I took it in and they were able to fix it within 2 hours at the dealership I got it from. I guess it’s a problem with the jumper harness under the shifter assembly that they have to replace.
